I pulled the plug on Grandpa.
It wasn't hard.
No moral issues.
No broken commandments.

It was long after the preliminary and parting
‘I-love-you-Grandpa's’ were spoken,

and I only finished the job.

Grandpa could only move his eyes,
but he spoke to me like no one before.

He was ‘DNR’,
Do Not Resuscitate.
If Grandpa was going down,
it was for the last time.

The doctors, nurses,
and entire medical community have all gone home.

So it's me and Grandpa.

But Grandpa was a tough old bird.
He was a tough old bird.

His razor mind wouldn't let his heart finish what it started.
